Career prospects

An internal or external certified accountant is the preferred advisor for self-employed people, SMEs and professionals and is therefore someone with a lot of personal and professional contact.

He or she works with other professionals, the finance and insurance sector, and also has regular contact with local, regional and federal authorities.

Pathway

To become an internal or external certified accountant, you must hold a qualification recognised by law and have successfully completed a three-year traineeship with the Institute. The application process is very simple. Click here for the full information on the pathway.

Traineeship

During the traineeship, the trainee becomes familiar with all aspects of the profession, including ethics. Under the guidance of a trainer, he or she is trained to become a fully-fledged internal or external certified accountant. After this traineeship, the trainee will hold the title of internal or external certified accountant.
